The mission

The mission of the training programme is to increase the knowledge of local authorities as well to contribute towards facilitation of political dialogue and communication between local representatives thus strengthening good governance practices at local level.
The specific objectives of the trainings are:
  • To increase the knowledge of Local Government Authorities (LGA) on core principles of good governance such as rule of law, legitimacy, transparency, accountability to citizens, accessibility and respect for human rights;
  • To enhance modern practices and share best practices in local decision-making process and transparent management, that takes into account the different public interests and opinions;
  • Increase the knowledge and competency of LGAs with regards to EU financial instruments and accessibility
