Leadership Academy Programme awards the second generation of local leaders
The Academy of Political Studies finalized the second cycle of the Leadership Academy (LAP), a program of the Center of Expertise of the Council of Europe, which is being developed in cooperation with the Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA), with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) .
Local authorities participated at the second course of Leadership Academy
Over 20 mayors and other top local government leaders participated on the second "Leadership Academy Programme" training course on 16-18 May 2018 in Golem. The courses combined theoretical approaches with practical policies and solutions to daily life problems of LGUs.
Leadership Academy Programme first training course
The first LAP training was held from 28 February – 2 March 2018 at hotel “Bleart”, in Durres, with the participation of 23 mayors, locally elected representatives and senior civil servants.The program of the Center of Expertise of the Council of Europe, is implemented in the context of the Swiss-funded project: Strengthening of Local Government Structures in Albania (Phase III).
Signed the MoU on Leadership Academy's accreditation
A Memorandum of Understanding for accrediting the Leadership Academy Program (LAP) was signed today between Mr. Claus Neukirch, head of the Council of Europe office in Tirana, Mr. Fatmir Demneri, Director of the Albanian School of Public Administration and Mr. Erjon Tase, director of the Academy of Political Studies.
Call for application for the Leadership Academy
The Albanian School of Public Administration and the Academy of Political Studies, open the call for applications for the "Leadership Academy Program" (LAP), addressing local government authorities, who will undergo a three-stage training focused at leadership based on the 12 principles of good governance of the Council of Europe.

Over 120 employees of Local Government Units attended and were certified at the end of the training program organized by the Academy of Political Studies in cooperation with the Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA) in the period 2016-2017. The fourth training of local authorities on "Sustainable development and strategic planing" was held on 29-30 June 2012 in Durres and was attended by 20 local elected representatives and members of local administrations of Tirana, Durres, Lezha, Kamza, Burrel, Vau Deja Bazaar, Berat, Kavaja, Shijak, Lushnjës, Himare.
Training course for local authorities on EU financial instruments
On 18-19 May, the ASPS organized in co-operation with the Training Institute of Public Administration (TIPA) its third training courses for representatives of Local Government Units (LGUs) of Albania.
